Willie's Story

Willie is a 2009, dark brown gelding by our first herd sire, ADMS National Champion Willow Creek Luigi, and out of our superb show and producing jennet, NMDA Reserve Champion Jennet, Country Music's Eli Barsi. Willie has been a superb halter show gelding in the past, winning large shows in Tennessee and Kentucky. He was then purchased and trained as a driving gelding and performed at this sport for eight years before returning to Appalachian Farmstead for a second opportunity to show in halter classes successfully. Willie's full brother, Farmstead's The Grand Finale (Fin), has a similar background and is a perfect match for Willie in team driving. Willie and Fin recently won the Best Matched Pair and Produce of Dam classes at the large Music City Show in Shelbyville, TN. Congratulations to the Mayton Family from Kentucky on their purchase of both Fin and Willie for driving and showing in halter.
